Description
This is a 1920's era Buddha incense burner recently purchased from an estate sale. It is two pieces: the Buddha statue and the base. Both pieces are made of terra cotta ceramic with a dark finish. Marked "Made in Japan" on the back. It works perfectly---place a cone of incense on the base and cover with the Buddha statue and the smoke billows from the mouth of the Buddha. It measures just under 5" and the base is 3" X 2 3/8". Condition: There is a white paint drip on the side of the head and some chips along the rim of the base. Also, a lot of green verdigris and staining on the piece. Visit my shop for more vintage religious collectibles.
